A successful day at UEA! The launch of our Get Norfolk Greener Campaign

Our team organised and supported the ‘Green Day’ event with the Student Information Zone (SIZ) for students, staff and visitors of UEA to meet some of the animals from Wild Touch. The animal sanctuary based in North Walsham, ‘Wild Touch,’ joined us at the SIZ today with a number of their funky and feathery friends! It was a fun day of meeting Dusk, the barn owl, Bronwyn, the snake and Bramble, the hedgehog as well as two lizards and two noisy baby ravens!

Open to all at the University of East Anglia, we met over 200 of you and it was fantastic to see such a turnout during the ‘Green Day’ event at the SIZ. Many of you got up close with the animals, having an opportunity to learn more about all the amazing work that Wild Touch do. The main attraction of the animals came in support of our campaign giving you a chance for your voices and concerns to be heard.

We also asked some people whether you felt that the Fuel Poverty Crisis is being addressed. Here’s what we found out…

As expected, there was an astounding majority who felt that their concerns were not being addressed at all. This gives us a strong but only brief insight into the lack of action in our local area. We believe must change.

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who helped, got involved and popped along to come and say hi. The day was a great success, and we hope that everyone had fun in support of Get Norfolk Greener.

Our Key Takeaways from the day…

  • Everyone Loves Hedgehogs!
  • Majority of you felt that the fuel poverty crisis was not being addressed.
  • The fuel poverty and climate crisis are directly impact our local Norfolk areas.

Lots of people were keen to help in various ways. If you think you could help us, or just want to see what we are getting up to: News
