South Norfolk District Council has put in place minimum energy standards in the private rental sector and encouraging new developments to maximize energy efficiency, this would improve the energy efficiency of homes in the district pushing for more than 50% to have an EPC rating of C or above. This is in coordination with efforts to move to green energy suppliers. This is already in effect as solar panel installations and other energy saving measures are able to save more than 100 tons of CO2. The district council has also been pooling its efforts with the county council to encourage the development of alternate technologies for commercial and private vehicles.
