Great Yarmouth Borough Council has not yet declared a climate emergency or set a local Net Zero target date, despite their part of the East Anglian coastline being affected by many different issues, including coastal erosion, plastic rubbish on the beaches, and changing weather patterns.
It has published ‘The Plan 2020-25’, which stated that the council will look to ‘lead by example’ through their work on tackling carbon reduction and the challenges associated with climate change. The council is also working with Eunomia, a company that supports local governments, businesses, and civil societies in their efforts to improve the local environment, especially on issues relating to waste and recycling, water management and air quality.
